Dragonfly Garden Cards for Stamp Review Crew
Hello and welcome to Mitosu Crafts UK. It’s Jay Soriano here sharing three Dragonfly Garden cards for the Stamp Review Crew blog hop.
I’m starting off this blog hop but you may have arrived here from Mickey Roberts’ blog if you’re hopping along already. Do hop all the way around by clicking the ‘Next Blog’ button at the end of this blog post for more inspirations using the Dragonfly Garden stamp set.
Dragonfly Garden Stamp Set & Dragonflies Punch Bundle
The Dragonfly Garden Stamp Set captures the tranquility and beauty of an idyllic garden. It also has inspirational greetings of friendship. Which give you many opportunities to make someone’s day with a hand-crafted card.
It coordinates with the Dragonflies Punch and can be ordered as a bundle with a saving of 10% until April 2022
Dragonfly Garden Cards
My first card is ideal for casual crafters. It has Dandy Garden Designer Series Papers (DSP), quick simple stamping and colouring. I did use another punch – Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch but you can easily change it to just normal rectangular toppers. As well as add cute little dragonflies from the bundle punch.
I stamped the tall image on Basic White card in Memento ink. Then selectively coloured some flowers in Mango Melody Stampin’ Blends followed by Clear Wink of Stella. I punched out the postage stamp and adhered on the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals to add depth.
Colouring Dragonfly Garden with Stampin’ Blends
I used the same image for my 2nd card and stepped up my colouring. The Stampin’ Blends colours used were: Granny Apple Green, Just Jade, Misty Moonlight and Pumpkin Pie.
I love how this turned out! I mainly used the brush tip to cover the Basic White card and mix the colours. Working from light to dark, I then used a pigment white pen to add highlights on the stems and flowers.
I embossed the layer underneath with Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. Then added punched dragonflies in white to keep the focus on the coloured panel and the white embossed sentiment.
Double Diamond Fancy Fold
Barry recently shared a video on our YouTube channel on this fun fancy fold and I just had to create one myself. I slightly tweaked it and added my own twist. But it still folds flat and fits a C6 envelope.
My card base is Rich Razzleberry which is scored and folded the same as Barry’s Double Diamond Card HERE. I covered the front panels with Dandy Garden DSP, small dragonflies in Misty Moonlight and large dragonfly in Coastal Cabana.
For my own twist, I added a card strip underneath to keep the card from opening too much (which I forgot to take picture of). Also, instead of a diamond topper I opted for a sign post topper. This topper rests on the double diamond at the back when opened.
I hope you’re inspired with these projects. Don’t forget to come back and order any Stampin’ Up! products online from Mitosu Crafts or from your local Stamp Review Crew Design Team.
Thanks again for stopping by. Until next time, BYEEEEE!
