2 Die Cut Tips ~ How To Customise Your Die Cut
Hi and welcome to Mitosu Crafts UK. It’s Jay Soriano here with the Stamping Sunday design team blog hop with the theme of Bish, Bash, Bosh. I created a Christmas card idea using the Alphabet A La Mode as well as the Horse & Sleigh dies. Sharing 2 die cut tips; how to reverse die cut and how to add details to letter die cuts.
The Stamping Sunday design team are a group of independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrators around the world. We share themed card ideas and papercraft inspirations every 3rd Sunday of the month. Do make sure you check out the rest of the Design Team’s creative projects from the links at the end of this post.
Christmas Card Idea with Alphabet A La Mode and Horse & Sleigh Die Cuts
How To Customise Your Die Cut Tips & Tricks
Reverse Die Cuts: this technique is an easy one and even better with non stamped die cuts like the sleigh. Simply flip the die cut cardstock and you have a reverse element. For the sleigh trims in foil, die cut on the back of the shiny surface. Do cover the foil to not leave an imprint of the texture of your cutting plate. Or run the die cut element through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine again.
Customise Alphabet Die Cut: there’s plenty of ways to add details to your die cut letters. You can cut on DSP, use ink blending, Water Painters or Stampin’ Blends on your cardstock before die cutting. For my card, I cut small strips of Masking Paper and adhered them on black card to create my stripes. I then used the side guard of the Paper Trimmer to arrange the dies neatly and use a sticky note to keep them in place whilst die cutting.
I hope you enjoyed this Christmas card with sleigh and the die cut tips I have shared. Thanks again for stopping by. Until next time, BYEEEEE!
