Hop Abroad Instahop
The Hop Abroad design team creates cardmaking & papercraft projects for an Instagram hop on the 1st Saturday of each month. Check out each member from the list below and be sure to follow everyone on insta for inspirations through out the month.
The theme for October is ‘Foliage’ and the Magical Meadow Bundle is full of lovely sprigs ideal for this! I was also inspired by the creative challenge from Stampin’ Up! to use non-traditional Christmas colour combo. #creativechallengesu
Magical Meadow by Stampin’ Up!
Share the delicate beauty of winter scenery with cards you make using the Magical Meadow Stamp Set. The fine lines on the sentiments, trees, sprigs, and berries add an ethereal feel to scrapbook pages and other paper crafts. Add depth to your cards by stamping a misty forest and then layering sprig images in the foreground. Stamp sentiments on labels and layer them on your cards, or stamp them on tags for Christmas gift-giving. Also available in French and German.
Christmas Card Idea with Magical Meadow
I used the faux watercolour technique to add the leaves in Soft Sea Foam ink by touching the design with a Water Painter before stamping. I also used the Water Painter to again to splatter Memento ink after.
The Basic White layer was then embossed with Distressed Tile and added hints of Silver Metallic Enamel Effects using my fingers.
I die cut the different flourishes in Dry Brushed Metallic Paper and Basic White card (which again were added with hints of silver enamel). These were arranged and layered to create my foliage.
I white embossed the sentiment on White Center Specialty Paper which I tore around the edges. As the strip was a little thick, I decided to add another element. So I punched 2 holes and fed through the Lemon Lime Twist ribbon.
To finish, I added more Metallic Enamel Effects in Copper.
