12 Weeks of Christmas Ideas #06
Here’s a fun fold card designed by Bonnie Hershfeldt. Using the Christmas Lights and Brightest Glow Bundle with a window sheet card front. This is an over-the-top card – a card within a card. The Window card opens from the right and the green inner card opens from the left. The inside sentiment will be in the middle.
Lights Aglow Double Window Card
12 Weeks of Christmas Ideas #06 Tutorial
- Cut Window Sheet at 5 1/2” x 7” (14.9 cm x 18.9cm). Score at 4 1/4” (10.5cm). You may need to score a couple of times due to the thickness of the Window Sheet.
- Wipe entire window sheet with Embossing Buddy from Embossing Additions Tool Kit. Stamp the small cluster of snowflakes/dots 3 times around the edges of the window card front. Stamp the small spikey snowflake 5 times around the edges of the window card front. Sprinkle with Gold Embossing Powder and carefully heat with Heat Tool to not cause the window sheet to warp. Once ink has cooled down, wipe the entire window sheet to remove the powder left from the Embossing Buddy. Place Tear and Tape vertically along the inside of the back of the Window Sheet card.
- Cut mottled green print from the Lights Aglow 6” x 6” Specialty Designer Series Paper at 5 1/2” x 3 3/4” (14.9cm x 9.5cm). Die cut the rectangle speckled edging die from the Twinkling Lights Dies along the bottom of the printed paper aligning the top edge of the die about 1 1/8” (4.25 cm) from the bottom edge. Die cut the solid Christmas tree die from the same die set about 1/8” (.25cm) above the speckled edging.
- Cut Distressed Gold 12” x 12” (30.5cm x 30.5cm) Specialty Paper at 5 1/2” x 4” (14.9cm x 10cm). Adhere to the back side of the mottled green print using the adhesive of your choice: Stampin’ Seal, Stampin’ Seal + or Multipurpose Liquid Glue avoiding the speckled dots. Die cut the textured tree die from the Twinkling Lights Dies by aligning the textured tree die in the middle of the solid Christmas tree cut out.
- Cut Evening Evergreen cardstock at 5 1/2” x 8” (14.9cm x 20cm). Score at 4” (10cm) using a Bone Folder. Adhere the green mottled print/distressed gold piece aligning the mottled green paper along the folded edge of the card front and the gold along the opening edge using the adhesive of your choice: Stampin’ Seal, Stampin’ Seal + or Multipurpose Liquid Glue. This card will open from the left instead of the right.
- Cut Basic White Cardstock at 3 3/4” x 1 1/4” (9.5cm x 4.5cm). Wipe the entire piece with the Embossing Buddy from the Embossing Additions Tool Kit. Stamp the 3 small spikey snowflakes with Versamark Ink. Sprinkle with Gold Embossing Powder. Heat embossing powder with Heat tool until melted. Once cooled, using a sponge dauber and Soft Succulent Classic Pad, color the entire snowflake by dabbing with the sponge dauber. Lightly buff the gold embossing. Die cut the snowflake with the coordinating snowflake die from the Twinkling Lights Dies. Adhere to the green card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Embellish with green mottled print card front with assorted sequins and gems from the green container of For Everything Fancy Sequins with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and the Take your Pick Tool. Place Tear & Tape along the back of the green card along the vertical edge. Remove the adhesive backing from both the window card and the green card. With the green card fold aligned along the opening edge of the window with the green card inside the window card, press down to seal.
- Cut Evening Evergreen at 5 1/2” x 4” (14.9cm x 10cm). Adhere to the back of the Window/Evening Evergreen card back to enclose the back of the Window card.
- Embellish the Window card front with assorted sequins and gems from the green container of For Everything Fancy Sequins with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and the Take Your Pick Tool.
- Cut Distressed Gold 12” x 12” (30.5cm x 30.5cm) Specialty Paper at 2” (6cm) square. Stamp the “All is Merry & Bright” sentiment from the Brightest Glow Cling Stamp Set with Jet Black Stazon Ink Pad. Die cut with the circle die from the Labels Aglow Dies.
- Cut Evening Evergreen cardstock at 2 1/4” (6.5cm) square. Die cut with 2” circle die from the Layering Circles Dies. Adhere the sentiment circle to this circle using the adhesive of your choice: Stampin’ Seal, Stampin’ Seal + or Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Adhere this to the Window Card Front using Stampin’ Seal + or Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
- Cut Basic White Cardstock at 5 1/4” x 3 3/4” (14.4cm x 9.5cm). Wipe the entire piece with the Embossing Buddy. Stamp the “may the peace of the season light your world & may your new year be the brightest” from the Brightest Glow Cling Stamp Set with Versamark Ink. Stamp the small spikey snowflake from the Christmas Lights Cling Stamp Set in the lower right corner with Versamark Ink. Sprinkle both with Gold Embossing Powder. Heat embossing powder with Heat tool until melted. Once cooled, wipe the piece to remove the powder from the Embossing Buddy. Adhere to the inside of the Evening Evergreen card using the adhesive of your choice: Stampin’ Seal, Stampin’ Seal + or Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
