Colour Challenge Inspiration with Faux Watercolour For Casually Crafting
Welcome to Mitosu Crafts UK, thanks for stopping by! It’s Jay here with the Casually Crafting blog hop sharing card ideas with Faux Watercolour Technique. Using Artfully Layered stamp set and inspired by this month’s Colour Challenge theme.
The Casually Crafting Design Team are a group of independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrators that enjoy sharing projects ideal for casual crafters. It’s a STEP UP from simple stamping, quick and easy projects for beginners. We hop every 3rd Saturday of the month and the colour combination for the challenge are Rich Razzleberry, Fresh Freesia and Old Olive.
Faux Watercolour Technique
This card making technique is easy and effective especially using solid stamp designs. With the help of a Stampin’ Spritzer; simply ink up your stamp, spritz with water a couple of times and stamp!
You can get different shades and texture with the Faux Watercolour technique too by continue stamping without inking and spritzing.
Faux Watercolour Card with Simple Layout
For my first card, I stepped up the technique by using 2 colours on the Artfully Layered leaves stamp. I applied the lighter Fresh Freesia first then added Rich Razzleberry ink around the edges of the leaves. By doing this, the Fresh Freesia ink pad stays nice and clean.
Faux Watercolour Layered Card with A Punch
My stepped up card features a lighter faux watercolour background with only Fresh Freesia ink on the stamp. I did use more cardmaking techniques using MUST HAVE Basic Tools like Paper Snips and Paper Trimmer to compliment the background and add interesting textures.
The layers were distressed then adhered on the wonk (#embracethewonk) before building up the layout using punched elements. The Rectangular Postage Punch was actually used in 4 different ways on this card; frame, inlaid Vellum, tucked layer and reverse/offcut accent!
Faux Watercolour Cards
I hope you enjoyed these card ideas using the Casually Crafting colour challenge inspiration. Which other stamp sets do you think the faux watercolour technique would work well with?
Thanks for stopping by & until next time, BYEEEEE!
