12 Weeks of Christmas Ideas #04

These shadow box card was designed by Angie McKenzie – Nature’s INKspirations by Angie McKenzie. Using the Christmas Season to decorate the front and All Bundles Up for the inside.

Christmas Season Shadow Box Card

Measurements

Imperial

• Thick Basic White – 11” x 5-1/2” scored at 10-5/8”, 7-1/4”, 6-7/8” and 3-7/8” (card base); approx 1/4 sheet for stamping, die-cutting, and fussy cutting
• Soft Succulent – 3-1/2” x 3-1/2”
• Boughs of Holly DSP – 2-7/8” x 5-1/2”; 2-5/8” x 5-1/2”; 3-1/8” x 5-1/4”
• Evergreen Glimmer – 3/8” x 5-1/2”; 1/2” x 5-1/2”

Metric

• Thick Basic White – 29cm x 14.8cm scored at 28cm, 19cm, 18cm, and 9cm (card base); approx 1/4 sheet for stamping, die-cutting and fussy cutting
• Soft Succulent – 8.5cm x 8.5cm
• Boughs of Holly DSP – 7.3cm x 14.8cm; 6.6cm x 14.8cm; 8.5cm x 14.3cm
• Evergreen Glimmer – 1cm x 14.8cm; 1.2cm x 14.8cm

12 Weeks of Christmas Ideas #04 Tutorial

1. Fold the card base score lines as “mountains” (fold under) gently with your fingers.
2. Die-cut the upper portion of the card back (section next to the folded tab) with the second largest Stylish Shapes circle die.
3. Set aside circle.
4. Flip the card base over (folds will look like “valleys”) with the inside panel to your left.
5. Adhere the shortest DSP layer to the second section (this will be the circle opening background).
6. Trim the tab edge just a smidge.
7. Adhere Tear & Tape Adhesive to the tab keeping the protective covering on.
8. Align the tab to a smidge below the score line (1st big “valley”), make sure the fold is straight then burnish the right fold (2nd “mountain”).
9. Close the card, align all edges and burnish the left fold.
10. Openthecard,removetheTear&Tapeprotectivecovering,closecarefully, pressing along the top to secure the tab.

11. Open the card(you should see the shadow box).
12. Continue to open until flat to burnish the outermost fold.
13. The card should stand open displaying the window and DSP background.
14. Continue to burnish the folds as necessary for smooth folds.
15. Adhere the smallest DSP panel to the card front.
16. Adhere the thinnest Glimmer strip to the right of the DSP.
17. Adhere the remaining DSP panel to the inside left panel.
18. Adhere the remaining Glimmer strip to the inside left panel.
19. Die-cut the Soft Succulent frame using the largest and second largest Stylish Shapes circle dies.
20. Insert the Basic White circle in the Soft Succulent frame.
21. Trimtheelements(lininguptheBasicWhitecircleatapproximately2-1/4”(5.7cm)forthecutting.
22. Splatter the circle with the brush tip of the Soft Succulent Stampin’ Blends Marker.
23. Adhere the elements to the cardbase butting up against the Glimmer Strip.
24. Stamp the images onto Thick Basic White cardstock with Crumb Cake(small pine cone, rabbits) and Evening Evergreen (fir, sentiments) inks.
25. Color the rabbits with Stampin’ Blends(Evening Evergreen,Soft Succulent, Crumb Cake and Ivory).
26. Die-cut and/or fussy cut the stamped images.
27. Tie a Linen Thread bow around the Flat Jingle Bell Trinket.
28. Arrange and adhere the elements as desired.
29. Stamp the Medium White Envelope to coordinate with the card.
