Beautiful Cards with Artistically Inked ~ Stamp Review Crew
Hello and welcome to Mitosu Crafts UK. It’s Jay Soriano here sharing Artistically Inked card ideas for the Stamp Review Crew blog hop. Using Split Ink Blending Technique and other items from the Expressions In Ink Suite.
Every 1st and 3rd Monday of the month the crew hops showcasing a specific stamp set by Stampin’ Up! I am delighted to be starting off the hop. But if you’re following already, you may have arrived here from Kelly Kent’s blog. There’s always a fun mix of techniques and inspirations from the crew. So I can’t wait to see all their projects with the Artistically Inked stamp set. Be sure to hop all the way around by clicking the ‘Next Blog’ button at the end of this blog post for more inspirations.
Artistically Inked Stamp Set
This stamp set is one of my favourites from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue. It allows you to stamp watercolour look or alcohol ink look backgrounds. As well as add floral arrangements to your projects. I believe that the four sentiments makes it a versatile set to have in your stash as you can use them all year long.
I wanted a mix of colours without blending together and make use of the background stamp effectively. My first card shows off the Split Ink Blending technique brilliantly and is fairly easy to recreate.
How To Create A Card With Split Ink Blending Technique
This technique makes use of the opposite card edges. The card is then cut and reassembled with the stamped/blended edges joined together.
- Stamp the background image in Flirty Flamingo and Polished Pink along the bottom edge. Then ink blend Polished Pink using Blending Brushes.
- Do the same for the top edge but with Coastal Cabana and Pacific Point inks.
- Cut the card layer about 2″ or 5cm from the top.
- Adhere the larger pink panel along the top edge of the Smoky Slate cardbase.
- Add the smaller blue panel along the bottom edge of the pink panel. Trim any excess if any.
- Stamp the ‘THANKS’ sentiment from Biggest Wish stamp set in Versamark.
- Offset the stamping of ‘thanks’ sentiment in StazOn.
- Stamp the dotty design in Pacific Point and Polished Pink randomly.
- Finish the card with the Gold Metallic Pearls.
I stepped it up for my 2nd project, using the Artistic Dies and Ephemera Pack elements from the suite. After splitting the card layer, I continued ink blending to add more colour on the Basic White card. I cut into the floral die cut to fit with my layout then added the die cut gray ink design to hide the edges. I folded Mini Glue Dots to add height on the white embossed sentiment. Then finished off the card with the gold accents from the Ephemera Pack and silver Metallic Pearls.
