Stamping Sunday Blog Hop ~ Hey Birthday Chick For Easter
Hi and welcome to Mitosu Crafts UK. It’s Jay Soriano here with the Stamping Sunday design team blog hop with the theme of Easter. I have 2 projects to share, an Easter card and mini Easter eggs treat holder. Using Hey Birthday Chick Bundle from the Mini Catalogue.
The Stamping Sunday design team are a group of independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrators around the world. We share themed card ideas and papercraft inspirations every 2nd Sunday of the month. Do make sure you check out the rest of the Design Team’s creative projects from the links at the end of this post.
Hey Birthday Chick Bundle
The four chicken images from Hey Birthday Chick stamp set are so adorable especially the chick in egg. Which is the smallest of the four and I used for both my projects today. There are also four sentiments and confetti design to complete the Cling Mount set. The Birthday Chick Dies coordinates with the stamp set and comes as a Bundle with saving of 10%. You can easily cut out the chickens plus more additional designs for celebratory occasions.
Cute Handmade Easter Card with Chick In Egg
A fairly simple and easy card with die cuts and colouring but packs a lot of card making techniques. I applied Balmy Blue ink on the card base using Blending Brushes. Then I snipped into a punched balloon to create the egg shape layer. Two fences were die cut and adhered centrally using Mini Dimensionals.
I coloured the chick in egg with Stampin’ Blends Markers in Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo and Highland Heather. Due to the image being small, I opened for block colouring which is easier and quicker to do. The coordinating die made the cutting easy before adhering on the fences to hide the joint.
I created a bow using the trim from Snail Mail Twine Combo. The die cut flowers from Hydrangea Dies which have triple dots of Highland Heather were then added. Then finished off with the Basic Pearls.
Mini Easter Eggs Treat Holder with Chick In Egg
For this Mini Easter Eggs treat holder, I used the same elements for decoration. Changing the colours around for the stamped image and ink blending Granny Apple Green instead. I also made a simple clasp with a strip of Blame Blue card then adding a fun double floating balloons.

How To Make A Mini Easter Eggs Treat Holder

- Ink blend Granny Apple Green on Basic White Layer then add glue only to the sides and bottom edges to adhere on the pouch.
- Add the Basic White Layer at then back using the above gluing method.
- Create egg shape element using Balloon Bouquet Punch and Paper Snips then add using Dimensionals.
- Die cut fence design in Basic White then add using Dimensionals.
- Stamp the chick in egg design in Memento and colour with Stampin’ Blends Markers ink Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil delight, Highland Heather and Granny Apple Green.
- Die cut the chick and adhere flat on the die cut fence. Then add Basic Pearls to finish the front.
- Fold the Balmy Blue Strip in half, add a Window Sheet (punched with Classic Label) with a bit of excess hanging over the half point. Then snip both ends of the strip clasp to a point
- Punch 4 small balloons and stamp the confetti in Highland Heather ink (2nd Generation).
- Adhere these back to back on the Window Sheet using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
