TGCDT: Amazing Rainbow Of Happiness Guy Cards
Hello & welcome to Mitosu Crafts UK. Thanks for stopping by for The Gentlemen Crafters Design Team May inspiration hop. It’s Jay Soriano here sharing 2 Rainbow Of Happiness guy cards with a bit of Kissing Technique.
The Gentlemen Crafters Design Team (#TGCDT) are a group of male crafters. Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the world that love to share our creative side with you every 2nd Friday of each month. Make sure you check out the rest of the Design Team’s creative projects and welcome our new member, Brenton Golley from the links at the end of this post.
Cardmaking Kissing Technique
The Kissing Technique is when you ink up 2 stamps and press or ‘kiss’ them together before stamping on cardstock. Ideally one bold image and the other is to add texture or details on the final stamped image. Also, red rubber stamps lessens the chance of smudges when kissing the stamps but it still works with photopolymer stamps.
Rainbow Of Happiness Simple Guy Card
To create this #simplestamping guy card I inked up the large arc in Misty Moonlight then kissed the dots repeatedly in Night of Navy ink. For the rest of the rainbow arcs I chose Basic Gray, Bumblebee and Smoky Slate.
To step it up slightly I stamped the Bumblebee arc on Basic White card, fussy cut with Paper Snips then layered on top using Stampin’ Dimensionals. With the added height created, I tied a bow using a string pulled from White Frayed Ribbon.
The sentiment was stamped in Memento ink then finished with Pearl Basic Jewels.
Rainbow Of Happiness Thanks
This 2nd card uses the same kissing technique on the large arc. I did stamped off first to add the Night of Navy dots on 2nd generation Misty Moonlight ink on the stamp. Which shows the dotted arc a lot better and I also changed the 3rd arc colour to Soft Succulent.
I added a hint of pattern paper from Sunshine & Rainbows DSP (FREE Sale-A-Bration Item) on the card front before adhering the stamped layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The ‘thanks’ sentiment from Amazing Thanks Dies was cut in Silver Foil and layered on Vellum. Then finished with a Gray Granite Baker’s Twine bow on a Vellum tab.
Rainbow Of Happiness Guy Cards
I hope you enjoyed these cards with the kissing technique using Rainbow Of Happiness and Amazing Thanks Dies. What colours would you choose to create a rainbow guy card?
Thanks again for stopping by. Until next time, BYEEEEE!

Hi Barry and Jay,
You have created a great card with the rainbow set. I love this set too.
Many greetings from Leipzig.

I really like these cards! I need inspiration for making rainbows that are not ROYGBIV, and yours are awesome! I especially like that you let the rainbow stand on its own without needing clouds. It becomes more of an abstract design that way. One of my favorite masculine dsp patterns is in the Well-Suited suite…the plaid shirt with two shades of blue plus red, white, and black. I think I’d try those colors for a guy card, and include a strip of the paper for coordination. Thanks!
