The Great Outdoors with Peaceful Cabin Bundle
Welcome to Mitosu Crafts UK, thanks for stopping by. It’s Jay Soriano here, for this month’s Creating Kindness blog hop. The theme is The Great Outdoors and I have created 2 cards using Peaceful Cabin Bundle.
Creating Kindness Design Team
The Creating Kindness Design Team hops every 1st Thursday of the month. If you’re following the hop already, you may have arrived here from It’s A Card Knock Life by Melinda Stearns. Do hop around the rest of the Creating Kindness Design Team from the links at the end of this post for more cardmaking inspirations.
Peaceful Cabin Bundle
Create a tranquil, peaceful winter scene with this new bundle from the Peaceful Place Suite in the Mini Catalogue. The Peaceful Cabin stamp set has 11 designs which includes 5 sentiments. And there are 13 designs in the Cabin Dies set with trees, snowflakes, a peaceful cabin plus more.
For my cards, I decided to focus on the die cut trees for the outdoors theme. I also used ink blending to add colour behind the trees to make them stand out. These colours were inspired by an anime series I’ve recently finished watching on Netflix.
Card with Evergreen Trees
This card is fairly simple to make with basic card making techniques; stamping, die cutting, embossing and ink blending.
I stamped the snowflakes on the cardbase in Smoky Slate ink before adding the Timber embossed card. The die cut circle was coloured in Blackberry Bliss, Gorgeous Grape and Pale Papaya using Blending Brushes. I was a little heavy handed on the purples and you can just about see a hint of the papaya colour. I then stamped the trees in Memento before adding the die cut Evening Evergreen trees and sentiment. To finish the card, I splattered Clear Wink of Stella and added 2 Pearl Basic Jewels.
Peaceful Cabin Trees with Stencils
For my 2nd card, I embossed the trees from Basic Pattern Decorative Masks. I also created my own stencil using one of the dies from Intricate Leaves set.
The same colours I used as before but kept more of the Pale Papaya along the bottom. I have been into white on white recently and really like how this card turned out. The white trees looks great agains the coloured background and the embossing adds texture to the card along with the distressed edges.
I hope you enjoyed these cards with trees. Be sure to continue along the hop for more inspirations from the Creating Kindness Design Team. Don’t forget to come back and order your Stampin’ Up! products online from Mitosu Crafts UK.
Thanks again for stopping by. Until next time, BYEEEEE!
