TGCDT: (June 2021 ~ Artistic Dies Embossing)
Hello & welcome to Mitosu Crafts UK. Thanks for stopping by for The Gentlemen Crafters Design Team’s June inspiration hop. Today we are sharing projects with Artistic Dies embossing techniques.
The Gentlemen Crafters Design Team (#TGCDT) are a group of male crafters. Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the world that love to share our creative side with you every 2nd Friday of each month. Make sure you check out the rest of the Design Team’s creative projects from the links at the end of this post.
Artistic Dies Embossing Technique
If you follow us on YouTube you may have seen us demonstrating this technique again recently. We shared how to emboss with dies using Stampin’ Up! Cut & Emboss Machine and Silicone Craft Sheet.
All the projects below uses the leaves design from Artistic Dies set. They were stepped up by watercoloring the embossed areas using Granny Apple Green ink and Water Painters.
Thanks Card with Die Embossing
For this card, the leaves die was embossed once on the Basic White layer. The sentiment was stamped in Evening Evergreen ink on another Basic White card and fussy cut using Paper Snips. Then layered on top of Vellum (die cut with Stitched So Sweetly) and a panel of DSP using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Handmade Tag with Die Embossing On Vellum
This tag mimics the layout of the 1st card in a smaller scale. A piece of Vellum was die cut first with Stitched So Sweetly then die embossed with the leaves design. It was watercolored at the front but flipped over to show more of the white outline from the embossing.
A piece of Garden Green card was added behind which swivels open due to the brad that secures both layers. It also stands on it’s own as the green layer was scored near the top which was punched with the Elegant Tag design.
Happy Birthday Card with Double Die Embossing
The layer for the final project with double die embossing technique was actually one of the first sample I did with the Artistic Dies. I wanted to see if I could create a wreath, which didn’t really work as the design is larger than the card layer.
I stamped the triple flowers in Magenta Madness ink after it was embossed. But if you are going to stamp on the same layer, do it before you emboss the layer. So you won’t have the same problem as I had with the design not stamping properly. Luckily, the Stitched So Sweetly frame covers the mistake perfectly.
We hope you enjoyed these projects. Click HERE if you’d love to see a demonstration of this technique on how to emboss with dies
Thanks again for stopping by. Until next time, BYEEEEE!

You guys are awesome. I watched your die embossing video, up until now that has been a mystery to me. I loved all the creative ways you used Artistically Inked. As you were doing them, I thought they were just trials, then I saw how you used the pieces to magically make a whole. I am truely inspired to play with that set after watching your video. Thanks for all the tips and creative inspiration!
