Stamping Sunday Blog Hop ~ Ombre Ink Blending

Hi and welcome to Mitosu Crafts UK. It’s Jay Soriano here with the Stamping Sunday design team blog hop. The theme this month is Ombre and I am sharing 2 projects with Ink Blending techniques. Using Plenty of Patterns Decorative Masks and Stellar Birthday set.

The Stamping Sunday design team are a group of independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrators around the world. We share themed card ideas and papercraft inspirations every 2nd Sunday of the month. Card with Ombre Ink Blending

Ombre ink blending technique can easily be achieved using the Blending Brushes. We also recently received the Plenty of Patterns Decorative Masks and just had to use it for this hop! The colours I used for the background are Coastal Cabana, Pacific Point and Night of Navy.

The Stellar Birthday girl was coloured in the following Stampin’ Blends: Smoky Slate, Petal Pink, Daffodil Delight and Poppy Parade. I also used the Color Lifter to lighten the shadows on the boots and gloves.

I wanted to add more ombre elements on this card. So the die cut stars from Give It A Whirl set, I also coloured in Light & Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.

The 3rd and final ombre effect I added is on the sentiment using a Sponge Dauber, Shaded Spruce and Coastal Cabana inks.

Gift Bag and Tag Project

I used the same colours and mask for the background ink blending on my 2nd project. I also coloured the Stellar Birthday boy for the topper to decorate.

Instead of adhering the topper on the bag, I turned it into a hanging tag! Firstly, the Detailed Trio Punch created the hole on top for the ribbon and trim. I then looped the gold Simply Elegant Trim only through the front hole so the ends can be decorated.

I secured the gold trim behind the tag topper using Tear & Tape. Then I added the circular Vellum and the die cut stars using Mini Glue Dots. The planet was also adhered using Mini Glue Dots.

Lastly, I inserted the Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon through both holes to close the bag and finish with a bow.
