Our special guest designer this month is Jan Clothier! One of the 2020 Artisan Design Team, Jan’s projects are always inspiring. You may have arrived here from Cheryll Miller’s Sense of Whimsy blog. Do hop around to check out Jan’s amazing project and the rest of the Creating Kindness Design Team from the links at the end of this post.

Perfectly Plaid Masculine Christmas Card

I have been playing with the Perfectly Plaid set recently and another idea of using one of the trees for the background came to me which I wanted to try. I kept it simple with a bit of free hand repeat stamping for the background and sentiment.

Stamping the detailed tree in Pretty Peacock ink on Just Jade card. Aligning was easy as the stamped image has jagged edges, it doesn’t matter too much if it’s not straight. I then adhered Pretty Peacock card strips and the sentiment before finishing with the same tree design, right way up with Crumb Cake trunk and cut with the Pine Tree Punch.

Wow! Such a fun pattern to create with that tree. I love all the movement this card has with the greeting on the diagnol and the pattern of the trees. Nicely done!

  • Jan Clothier

That’s a clever way to use the tree stamp. I like the bold, graphic look it creates. Thanks so much for the chance to hop with you and the crew.

  • Lou Kitzelman

WHAT? I love how your mind works Jay! This is so clever. You really know how to get the most out of a stamp set. Note to self: Think “What would Jay do?” x
