Beautiful Scenes with Snow Front by Stampin’ Up!
Hi and welcome to Mitosu Crafts, thanks for stopping by. It’s Jay here with a couple of scenes using the new Snow Front stamp set from the 2019 Autumn/Winter catalogue.
The Snow Front set contains 17 photopolymer stamps which allows you to stamp and create your own beautiful scenery. For my projects today I decided to build up the each image with some sponging and masking techniques.
Simple Snow Front Portrait Scene
The first card is fairly simple with no masking involved. I sponged Night of Navy and Flirty Flamingo inks on Whisper White card before stamping the mountains in Grey Granite. The mountain design was stamped three times, in different areas to build up a taller image for the background.
I also stamped the zig zag line to create a curved horizon. Then stamped again for the diagonal ‘path’ towards the right hand side of the card.
The trees were added next in Memento Black. Once the ink has dried I added Wink of Stella for some shimmer.
I created the splatters with the help of the Aqua Painters and drying quickly with paper towels.
The ‘moon’ was an after thought to be honest as I forgot to create a circle mask before sponging. So I stamped the zig zag design on another piece of Whisper White and punched with 1″ Circle Punch. I trimmed and folded the Flax Ribbon underneath, held with Tear and Tape before adding the ‘moon’ on the card with dimensionals.
Stepped Up Snow Front Landscape Card
The second card idea uses the same colours as before with a small addition of Coastal Cabana. I also used a mask to help keep the horizon a straight line.
The building of this landscape scenery is also the same as before, starting with sponging the colours for the background then stamping the mountains. Once I knew where the mountains were I sponged a bit more to deepen the colours.
I stamped the trio of trees in Memento Black and their ‘shadow’ in 2nd Generation Coastal Cabana ink. The ‘shadow’ is also a stamp from the Snow Front set which looks like a small mound.
The blooms on the trees were achieved with the splatter design from the set and Craft White Pigment ink. Make sure to clean your stamp with a Shammy after each stamp as the Night of Navy ink will mark your Craft White. To add different shades, I also used the Chalk Marker, randomly adding dots in different areas.
To finish, I punched Coastal Cabana card with the 1/2″ Circle Punch then applied Wink of Stella. I adhered the 1″ punched circle then the rest of the Flax Ribbon from the first card.
