How To Make A Card with Rays of Light Background Stamp

Hello and welcome to Mitosu Crafts! It’s Jay Soriano here with card ideas using the background stamp Rays of Light for the Stamp Review Crew BONUS blog hop.

Rays of Light Stamp Set

Brighten your crafting with the Rays of Light Stamp Set. The bold rays emanate from an offset open circle to create a sense of light and shadow. To create a quick card, use this stamp to stamp the background on your card base, then stamp a sentiment over the ray image. Done! If you want to step it up, layer punched or die-cut pieces over the rays.

I created 2 cards, mixing the background stamp with Kindest Expressions set and Hey Chuck Bundle amongst other Stampin’ Products.

Optical Illusion Rays of Light Card

I stamped on Basic White card then cut them into strips and rearranged the sequence to create an optical illusion background. These were added flat on the cardbase with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Starry Sky colour was ink blended and the Lemon Lime Ribbon added on the layer. The sentiment from Kindest Expressions was white embossed on Blueberry Bushel card. Which was then die cut with the largest banner from the Nested Essentials Dies set.

To add more colour, I went over the ‘happy’ with Daffodil Delight Dark Stampin’ Blends. Going over the embossed area again, off setting slightly to add shadows for the word. Once done, I added the banner on the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To finish the card, I added 3 Gorgeous Grape Glossy Dots.

Rays of Light Hey Chuck

I have a lot of pre-coloured Hey Chuck chickens from my recent Online Colouring Masterclass. So I decided to use them and make a card!

I stamped the Rays of Light in Lemon Lolly ink then used the rotary perforating tip (Take Your Pick Crafters Tip) to add extra details on each sun rays. This was then added on Lemon Lolly cardbase using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The chicken, cake, and fence from Hey Chuck were all coloured in various Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. I placed the chicken where the rays starts with Stampin’ Dimensionals and arranged the other elements around. Including the clouds and stars die cuts from Give It A Whirl Dies set.

I ink blended Tahitian Tide on the clouds and covered the stars with Clear Wink of Stella. The Smoky Slate die cut arrow was also ink blended and inserted through the cloud. This was achieved by cutting a slit using a craft knife.

To finish I added 3 Gold Sequins and the Tahitian Tide Baker’s Twine bow (folded in half).
