12 Weeks of Christmas Ideas #03
These vintage card & tag combo were designed by Vanessa Baker – Confetti Card Studio. Using Perched In A Tree Bundle to decorate a slimline card and Tailor Made Tag die cut.
Vintage Bird Christmas Card & Tag
Measurements
- Crumb Cake card stock 21cm x 18cm (8-1/2″x 7”) score in half at 9cm (3-1/2″)
- Crumb Cake card stock 11cm x 11cm (4-1/4” x 4-1/4”) for stamping and die cutting
- Crumb Cake card stock 5.5cm x 10.5cm (4” x 2-1/4) for the tag
- Soft Succulent card stock 12cm x 6cm (4-1/2” x 2-1/4”)
- Vellum2at2cmx10cm(3/4”x4”)plus2at2cmx5cm(3/4”x2”)
- Evening Evergreen scraps
- Basic White inner 20.6cm x 8.6cm (8-3/8” x 3-3/8”)
- Black & White Gingham Ribbon 15cm (6”)
- Linen Thread 20cm (8”)
12 Weeks of Christmas Ideas #03 Tutorial
Vintage Bird Christmas Card
- Stamp the words from Quiet Meadow in Memento Black ink twice across the card base
- Stamp the bird and branch from Perched in a Tree stamp set onto Crumb Cake card stock in Soft Suede Ink. Cut them out using the Aspen Tree Dies.
- Cut 1 of each size leaf from Aspen Tree Dies in Soft Succulent card stock and 1 large leaf in Crumb Cake card stock, use a blending brush to add Soft Suede Ink around the edges of the card base and over the leaves, bird, and branch.
- Stamp the splatter image 2-3 times in Soft Suede on the left-hand side of the card.
- Tear the strips of Vellum so they layer nicely together. Attach by using the applicator end of the Multipurpose Liquid Glue and spread it out so there are no large blobs. This way it will dry clear. Use the same glue method to attach the Vellum to the card.
- Attach the leaves and the branch to the card front, then add the small leaf over the twigs on the end of the branch.
- Attach the bird using dimensionals.
- Stamp the Merry Christmas from the Peaceful Deer stamp set in Versamark onto Evening Evergreen cardstock, cover with White embossing powder, tap off the excess, and heat set. Trim to size and adhere on top of the vellum.
- Add 3 Festive Pearls and decorate the inner with the words from Quiet Meadow and the splatter stamp in Soft Suede
- Tuck inside a Slimline Envelope
Vintage Bird Christmas Tag
- Cut the largest tag from Tailor Made Tags dies from Crumb Cake card stock.
- Stamp the words from Quiet Meadow in Memento Black ink across the tag
- Tear the Vellum so they layer nicely together. Layer together and attach to the tag using the same method as for the card.
- Stamp the splatter image 2 times in Soft Suede above the words
- Cut 2 small size leaves from Aspen Tree Dies in Soft Succulent and Crumb Cake card stock, use a blending brush to add Soft Suede Ink around the edges of the tag and over the leaves.
- Attach the leaves using multipurpose liquid glue.
- Stamp the Sending Love and Peace This season from the Peaceful Deer stamp set in Versamark onto Evening Evergreen cardstock and emboss as per the card. Trim the words Love & peace closely around the words and adhere over the stems of the leaves and vellum.
- Thread the Black & White Gingham Ribbon through the reinforced hole in the tag. Tie a bow of linen thread around the ribbon. Add a festive pearl.
