Happy Birthday Card with Succulent Die Cuts
Welcome to Mitosu Crafts UK, thanks for stopping by. It’s Jay Soriano here sharing my birthday card with succulent and triangle die cuts. Created for The Spot cardmaking challenge using various Stampin’ Up! products.
The Spot Creative Challenge #152
The Spot design team creates Stampin’ Up! inspirations for a weekly card making challenge every Tuesday. The inspiration this week is the photo below. So use the bright image as a starting point for your project. It can be the colours, flowers or succulents that inspires you. Whatever it is do join in and submit your creations on The Spot blog.
Card with Succulents Die Cuts
I took the colour combination, shapes and succulents depicted in the photo inspiration to create my card. Using Potted Succulents Dies, Stitched Triangles Dies and sentiment from Sweet Ice Cream Stamp Set.
How To Create This Card With Succulent Die Cuts
- Cut Thick Basic White cardstock in half on the short edge. Fold in half to create a tent fold cardbase.
- Die cut the following elements with Potted Succulents Dies:
- Vellum – large succulent outline die
- Mint Macaron – 3 x detailed succulents
- Old Olive – hanging pearls
- Petal Pink – thin stitched label
- Die cut the triangles (3rd from the smallest Stitched Triangles Dies) in Calypso Coral, Pumpkin Pie and So Saffron cardstock. Adhere towards the right hand side using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Stamp the ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment on Basic White card in Misty Moonlight ink then fussy cut.
- Add 1 detailed succulent above the Pumpkin Pie triangle flat on the cardbase.
- Adhere Just Jade Ribbon under the Petal Pink thin stitched label using Tear & Tape and add on the large vellum die cut towards the left hand side.
- Add the sentiment, 1 detailed succulent and hanging peals elements on the Vellum using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
- Carefully add dots of liquid glue and Mini Dimensionals at the back of the Vellum and adhere on the card front. Snip off excess on the right hand side.
- Adhere the 3rd detailed succulent on top of the snipped off excess Vellum then both on the top left of the card front.
- Splatter with Clear Wink of Stella and finish by embellishing with Basic Pearls.

I absolutely love this — the use of the triangle dies is perfect! I love the dies so much but haven’t figured out how to use them on a card project (I’ve used them on scrapbook layouts). Keep using these dies to give me more inspo! =)
