Hey Girlfriend Stamp Set from 2021 Mini Catalogue
Welcome to Mitosu Crafts UK, thanks for stopping by. It’s Jay Soriano here with a card idea for The Spot creative challenge using the NEW Hey Girlfriend stamp set from the 2021 January-June Mini Catalogue.
The Spot Creative Challenge #143
The Spot design team creates Stampin’ Up! inspirations for a weekly card making challenge every Tuesday. It’s a card sketch layout this week so I used the image below as a starting point for my project. Remember you can change the shapes of the elements and change it up. Hey Girlfriend Stamp Set
This stamp set was inspired by Million Sales Achiever April Lopez and can be found on page50 of the 2021 January-June Mini Catalogue. It has 3 gorgeous girls to colour, a cat, a dog, a balloon and 5 different sentiments great for your BFFs.
For my card, I coloured one of the girls using Stampin’ Blends Markers. I also mixed it with Forever Blossoms stamp set and Potted Succulents Dies.
Stampin’ Blends Colouring Hey Girlfriend
The colours I used were Magenta Madness, Highland Heather, Bronze & Ivory combo packs for the girl with glasses image. I block colour her skin tone in Ivory, waited for it to dry and added shadows with the same colour. This way the 2nd application is darker and doesn’t blend with the first colouring. This method will show the lines though which I quite like with figurative images like in Hey Girlfriend.
Her skirt and hair bow is a mix of Magenta Madness and Highland Heather. Starting with the highlights using Light Magenta Madness first then adding the shadows with Dark Highland Heather.
I also used Light Bermuda Bay to colour the background on the Forever Blossoms panel as well as the outer edges of the die cut flowers.
Other Details and Finishes
To follow the card sketch, I stamped the sentiment on Highland Heather card and die cut with one of the label dies from Potted Succulents set. I added a Magenta Madness shade on the die cut using the Blending Brushes for more interest. Then backed with a smaller label die cut from the same set in Pool Party.
I added Dark Magenta Madness dots on the flower centres and coloured the Pearl Basic Jewels to finish the card.
