Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set

This set from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue p.60, carried over from last year’s Mini Catalogue. We have loved this set since and have created quite a few projects. It comes with 13 photopolymer stamps and coordinates with the Pine Tree Punch which I have used on my projects for this hop. It’s easy to use the tree images for toppers but I wanted to challenge myself and also showcase one of the sentiments on both cards.

‘Ho Ho Ho’ Sentiment Border

I found that the one line ‘Ho Ho Ho’ sentiment is a good size to create borders with. Starting on one corner and leaving a 3/8″ or 1cm space (the height of the stamp), I repeatedly hand stamped across the card. I then turned the card and continued stamping the sentiment to create my border.

The middle layer was embossed with the Pinewood Planks before adding the stamped and punched plaid Pine Tree. Finishing with the trio of red Wonderful Gems.

Emboss Resist Sentiment and Sponging

Keeping with the monochromatic theme, I added Basic Gray card and pops of red on this 2nd card. I stamped the trees and sponged Memento ink on the layer before splattering Frost White Shimmer Paint. To create the sentiment, I stamped Versamark on Real Red card and Clear Heat Embossed. Followed by covering the whole piece in Memento ink. The embossed sentiment shows off the card colour underneath as it resists the Memento ink, adding a very dramatic look to the card.

Pine Tree Forest

When the card is opened a forest of pine trees emerges with another Ledge Pop Up design. 16 pine trees were stamped in Memento ink on Basic Gray and Whisper White card stock. I used Dark Real Red Stampin’ Blends in some of the leaves and used Real Red ink to stamp the suspended sentiment to finish.

Oh, Jay! I wish I had a fraction of your creativity! Using the sentiment stamp to stamp a border is a clever idea. However, the second card is absolutely gorgeous! Someone will be thrilled to receive this work of art in their holiday mail!

Jay these are just fabulous. I love that colour scheme. So many details to love on these, from the border to the Ledge card fold. Superb!
