Chocolate Card Idea with Playful Alphabet
Welcome to Mitosu Crafts UK, thanks for stopping by. It’s Jay Soriano here with a chocolate card idea for The Spot creative challenge using Pattern Play Stamp Set and Playful Alphabet Dies from 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue.
The Spot Creative Challenge
The Spot design team creates Stampin Up inspirations for a weekly card making challenge every Tuesday. It’s Coffee, Cocktails & Chocolate theme this week, which one would you make a project with?
Nothing’s Better Than stamp set and Love You More Than dies bundle is perfect for this challenge. As it contains all three in one bundle but we do not have this set sadly so I had to be a little creative with my project. Then I thought I could use Jar of Flowers to create a cocktail or iced coffee with a little sponging. Until I finally decided to make my own chocolate card using cardstock.
Make Your Own Chocolate Card
I used Soft Suede cardstock for the chocolate bar which I scored then added square layers in each section. The ‘bite mark’ was achieved using the largest scallop circle from the Layering Circles dies set. Each sections were then decorated with the die cut letters from Playful Alphabet dies in Early Espresso. Don’t you just love the shine on the letters, like rich dark chocolate? It’s a very easy to achieve with the help of a clear packaging tape! Simply add tape on your cardstock before die cutting and voila, instant shine on your die cuts!
Pattern Play and Playful Alphabet Bundle
This Crumb Cake card was further decorated with a bit of stamping in Soft Suede ink from the Pattern Play stamp set. The sentiment is also from the same set which comes as a bundle with the Playful Alphabet Dies and a saving of 10%. I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso ink on Very Vanilla card before tearing and adding on the card front. The Cinnamon Cider ribbon and Linen Thread just adds that final touch to finish the card.
