Walk In The Woods with Sending Sunshine
Welcome to Mitosu Crafts UK, thanks for stopping by. It’s Jay Soriano here with a card idea for The Spot creative challenge using the NEW Walk In The Woods and Sending Sunshine sets from 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue.
The Spot Creative Challenge
The Spot design team creates Stampin Up inspirations for a weekly card making challenge every Tuesday. It’s a Colour Challenge this week and you have 5 colours to choose from below. You can use 3 or all 5 on your project.
Barry and I have been enjoying our walks around Basing Woods, Popley and Chineham in Basingstoke. It’s great to get out of the flat, get some exercise and finally see what’s actually around us. It’s also been fun sharing our routes on Facebook and see what shapes our friends can see. Below are a couple of the shapes we created during our walks last week.
What can you see from the shapes above? I’m sure our walk in the woods have made us want this great outdoor stamp set even more.
Walk In The Woods
We received this set last week and after playing with the Water Painters on our Facebook Live, I decided to colour the mushrooms image. Instead of water though I added rubbing alcohol in the Water Painter.
I did however pick up Old Olive instead of Pear Pizzazz as stated on the challenge but I thought it’s ok as I’ve also used Crumb Cake, Rich Razzleberry and Mint Macaron on.
Just like watercoloring, I started with lighter shades so I can add more when needed. I diluted the inks a lot more with alcohol when colour washing the background to not get too much streaks.

Another NEW set we received last week which Barry played with during our Youtube Live on Sunday is Sending Sunshine. I love the flourishes and clouds designs for this set so I incorporated these on my card.
The clouds were used 2 ways; to create a wood look on the Crumb Cake card and stamped on Whisper White, fussy cut then adhered back to front. The small flourish was also stamped tone on tone on the Mint Macaron card base.
