Stampin Up! Wildly Happy with Waterfront
Welcome to Mitosu Crafts UK, thanks for stopping by. It’s Jay Soriano here, for this month’s Creating Kindness blog hop. The theme is Animals and I have created a card using Wildly Happy with Waterfront stamp set.
Our special guest designer this month is Jess Collard of Jessie C’s Crafts. If you’re following the hop already, you may have arrived here from The Artful Inker by Sara Levin. Do hop around to check out Jess’ wonderful project and the rest of the Creating Kindness Design Team from the links at the end of this post.
Colouring Wildly Happy Elephants
Thinking of the animals theme, I instantly grab the Wildly Happy stamp set. I have used all of the four images in past projects as they are all so cute! I decided to colour the elephants again with a little twist and created a card that can be for Father’s Day as well.
In the past, I have coloured these elephants with just Smoky Slate blends markers. It does work well and even without colouring the Wildly Happy animal line images, you will still have an adorable card. I had more time colouring recently, so I added Pretty Peacock, Pool Party, Daffodil Delight and Chalk Marker with Smoky Slate to colour the elephants stamped in Smoky Slate ink. This was then die cut with the Stitched Shapes Dies for the topper.
Masking and Sponging
I created a mask for the elephants using scrap paper so I can sponge the background with Granny Apply Green and Shaded Spruce inks. The trees from Waterfront set were then stamped in Shaded Spruce on the topper as well as the layer.
A torn piece of copy paper was used for masking the layer and allowed me to sponge Pretty Peacock, Granny Apple Green and Soft Sea Foam for the landscape. I added Pretty Peacock splatters and Chalk Marker dots before adhering the layer on Sahara Sand card base.
Finishing Touches
The die cut tree from Majestic Mountain Dies was cut in Smoky Slate card and sponged with Shaded Spruce. I added the ribbon with Tear & Tape before adhering the stitched topper with dimensionals then finished with the sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink.
