Flower Vase with Sweet Strawberry Bundle
Welcome to Mitosu Crafts UK, thanks for stopping by. It’s Jay Soriano here with a card idea for The Spot creative challenge using Sweet Strawberry Bundle to create a flower vase with a pop up surprise inside.
The Spot Creative Challenge
The Spot design team creates Stampin’ Up! inspirations for a weekly card making challenge every Tuesday. It’s a Colour Challenge this week and you have 5 fun colours to choose from below. This colour palette has been taken from Flowering Cactus product medley from the Mini Catalogue. So I know that it’s great for floral themed cards.
Flower Vase with Sweet Strawberry Bundle
I decided to use this bundle as I have yet to create a project with it! To use the colour combination though, I concentrated on the flowers. I also turned the strawberry upside down to create my vase.
Creating A Tritone Background and Flowers
To ensure I use all the colours for the challenge, I created a tritone background. This is easy to achieve by starting with a Mint Macaron card. Pear Pizzazz and Mossy Meadow inks were then added using Blending Brushes, at the top and bottom. Then finally stamping on the layer randomly in Pear Pizzazz ink. It’s quite interesting how the colour changes on the stamping as well through the tritone background.
The tritone look is mirrored with the flowers, using Stamping Off technique, Highland Heather ink and Highland Heather card. Then punched with the coordinating Strawberry Builder Punch.
To finish the front, I added Gold Metallic Trim, stamped the sentiment in Calypso Coral and Flowers For Every Season Gems.
Flower Wreath Pop Up
The recipient will be greeted with a floral surprise when they open this card. I used 2 mechanism which I shared for the Butterfly Brilliance Horizontal Pop Up Card HERE. Adding a circle frame with Layering Circles then built the wreath with the flowers from the set including the larger ones which coordinates with the Small Bloom Punch.
