Simple Masking Technique with Hey Birthday Chick

Hello and welcome to Mitosu Crafts UK, thanks for stopping by. Its Barry & Jay Soriano here sharing projects from our recent Youtube Live using a masking technique & the Hey Birthday Chick Stamp Set to create 2 simple cards
Make Your Own Masks
Making your own mask for your stamping projects is a great way of using the stamps differently. You can give the illusion of things being in the foreground and background creating lots of depth. Add some simple colouring techniques with your stampin blends and you can really make things pop of the page.
To create you masks you’ll need some
*Post It Notes or something similar with a low tack backing and
*Paper Snips
Stamp your image you want to mask onto the Post It note and then cut out.
After you’ve done the above all you need to do is stamp the image first that you want to be in the foreground, cover with the mask and the stamp another image on top of this in the desired position. Repeat this step until you have the look you’re after.
Follow This Rule
Remember, you need to work front to back. The image you stamp with no mask will be the image in the foreground. Everything stamped with the mask down will move to the background once it’s removed.
