Stamping Sunday Blog Hop ~ Holiday Table with Plush Poinsettia Petals

Hi and welcome to Mitosu Crafts UK. It’s Jay Soriano here with the Stamping Sunday design team blog hop with the theme of Holiday Table. I am sharing two 3D projects using the Plush Poinsettia Petals.

Stamping Sunday Blog Hop Cardmaking and Papercraft Inspirations with Stampin' Up! Products from Mitosu Crafts UK | Barry & Jay Soriano

The Stamping Sunday design team are a group of independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrators around the world. We share themed papercraft inspirations every 2nd Sunday of the month. Do make sure you check out the rest of the Design Team’s creative projects from the links at the end of this post.

Plush Poinsettia Petals Holiday Table Cracker

This cracker was created from a 6″ x 6″ Plush Poinsettia Speacialty Paper, so you can make 4 from one sheet! Barry actually demonstrated how to create a cracker like this on our recent online class. I tied the cracker with Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon and added a Braided Linen Trim Bow.

The small poinsettia petals image was stamped twice in Memento and coloured in the following Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers: Balmy Blue, Bermuda Bay and Misty Moonlight. Before die cutting with the coordinating Poinsettia Dies.

This cute little cracker can hold a small treat like a Ferrero Roche. Just be sure to put it in before tying both ends 🙂

Holiday Table Mason Jar Decoration

It’s not really a mason jar, just an ordinary empty jar but you can decorate one just like this. Simply wrap the tactile vellum paper, adhered using Mini Glue Dots and decorate with the coloured poinsettia to match the cracker.

I also added Seaside Spray die cut leaves with sponged edges in Craft White for more interest. Then made the poinsettia sparkle using Clear Wink of Stella.

You can also paint the jar first with Acrylic Paint or add epsom salt to the exposed top and bottom areas. This will be for a more snowy wintery effect which I feel the colour combination of the poinsettia already convey.

We always play games on Christmas evenings, so a battery tea light holder (or a few more) would be perfect this Christmas.

I hope you enjoyed these 3D projects. It was a challenge for me as we do not normally host Christmas dinners. What decorations will be on your holiday table this year?

Thanks again for stopping by. Until next time, BYEEEEE!

Jay, I just love both of your projects. The blues and greens on the poinsettia are so elegant and your coloring is stunning. Those little mason jar candle holders are wonderful, too. Thanks for the fantastic creative inspiration!
