Tasteful Touches Bundle with Vellum
Welcome to Mitosu Crafts UK, thanks for stopping by. It’s Jay Soriano here with a card idea for The Spot creative challenge using the Tasteful Touches Bundle set from 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue.
The Spot Creative Challenge
The Spot design team creates Stampin Up inspirations for a weekly card making challenge every Tuesday. It’s a card sketch this week so use the below image for your project. You can change the layout slightly so long as it still resembles elements from the original layout.
Tasteful Touches Bundle Card Idea
For my card idea I used the gorgeous Tasteful Touches Bundle again. The imagery on the stamps and edging on the dies put this bundle on top of our list! You can find it in the In Good Taste Suite on the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue, pages 122-124.
I die cut the window panel on Smoky Slate cardstock then use this to draw on the cardbase to guide my stamping. The diagonal cut was made and the triangular piece was then embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.
I reconstructed the topper with Tear & Tape adhesive then added the Vellum. The flourish design was stamped on the back and the gold embossed sentiment on top.
To strengthen the triangular element, a strip of Petal Pink and Gold Foil were laid along the cut line.
This card was also inspired by an illustration book with layers of vellum. In the book, the vellum adds another texture to each illustration and helps create depth as opacity of the inks lightens.
For my card, I had to raise the Smoky Slate layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals as the Staz On ink underneath was still too strong and was overpowering the gold embossed sentiment. Finishing off with the flower trio using the Small Bloom Punch in Soft Sea Foam.
