2019 Autumn / Winter,  Inspiration,  The Gentlemen Crafters

TGCDT: October 2019 Let It Snow

Thanks for stopping by to have a look at our creations for The Gentlemen Crafters Design Team hop. Today we are sharing projects made with the Let It Snow Suite and the New Mercury Glass Designer Acetate. We created 2 beautiful card projects which are easy to replicate yourselves at home with Stampin’ Up! products and a box to fit them in.

The Gentlemen Crafters Design Team (#TGCDT) are a group of male independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrators and we share what we love every 2nd Friday of each month. Make sure you check out the rest of the Design Team’s creative projects from the photo links at the end of this post.

Barry’s Mercury Glass Acetate Cards

For these 2 projects I have used the Snowman Season Stamp Set from the Let it Snow Suite and one of them is completely made from the Mercury Glass Acetate Sheets. It’s a very sturdy acetate and perfect for box and card building.

Initially I was only going to make the card made from the Mercury Glass acetate and Snowman Season Stamp Set from the Let It Snow Suite but after cutting it to size I was left over with the perfect layer for the second card. If you follow our size guide you will also be able to make 24 cards in total. 12 full acetate cards & 12 acetate card layers.

Mercury Glass Acetate – Size Guide

Cut Mercury Glass Acetate at 4″ & 8″ giving you 3 4″x12″ strips. Cut each strip at 8″ giving you a 4″x8″ piece. Now score this piece at 4″ and use a bone folder to give you a crisp crease.

With the remaining piece of acetate cut this to 3 3/4 square and some real red card stock at 3 13/16″. Mat and layer these 2 pieces to your 4 1/4″ Square card base.

I would highly recommend you use tear n tape to attach the Mercury Glass Acetate to the the card stock.

Snowman Season Bundle

The Mercury Acetate features on the cards but the other star of the show is the Snowman Season Stamp set from the Let It Snow Suite. It doesn’t need much to make this set really stand out and on a plus side it also come with a coordinating punch, Snowman Builder. Both can be ordered together as a BUNDLE with 10% saving!

Just add a few Blends, Snips and the Stitched Shapes Dies and you be able to recreate these card projects. If you don’t have a die cutting machine, don’t worry. Instead of using the Stitched Shapes Dies just cut your layers to size with your paper trimmer.

Jay’s Let It Snow Card Box

I decided to create a box to hold Barry’s cards using the Let It Snow sentiment from Snowman Season.

This box measures 4-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ as I wanted it big enough to hold envelopes too! I stamped the snowflakes in Coastal Cabana and Pool Party before die cutting with the circle Stitched Shapes Dies.

The Sprig Punch, Snowman Builder Punch and Flax Ribbon were adhered at the back of the circle stitched topper before adding on the box lid.

We will be recreating this card box during our youtube live this Sunday. Subscribe to our channel HERE to not miss future lives and tutorials.

We would love to know what you think of our projects in the comments. Thanks again for stopping by. Until next time, BYEEEEE!
