Stamp Review Crew ~ High Tide
Hi and welcome to Mitosu Crafts in the UK. It’s Jay Soriano here sharing my projects for the Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop
We are showcasing the photopolymer stamp set High Tide from the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue. This set consist of 4 sentiments and 12 images that you can combine to create beautiful scenes. With 16 stamps in total, make sure to hop along to all the crew’s blog for more ideas & inspirations
My first card idea uses 5 stamps in the High Tide set on Shimmery White Cardstock
Night of Navy Cardbase 29cm x 10.5cm
Basic Black Mat 14.5cm x 9.6cm
Shimmery White Card 7.6cm
I started with the water lines image and stamp across the card 3 times in Pacific Point ink. I spread the ink with the Aqua Painters, adding Tempting Turquoise and Night of Navy to create depth
I turned the land image upside down and stamped in Sahara Sand, masking the rest of the project. I wasn’t happy with the colour so I used Wild Wasabi ink on top which resulted in the textured island
The birds were stamped in Archival Black, highlighting one side of the birds in the foreground with the Chalk Marker then adding Daffodil Delight ink
I applied Daffodil Delight wash in the sky then on the beach with a little bit of Sahara Sand
The sentiment was stamped in Archival Black then die cut with the 4.1cm diameter Layering Circle Framelit (3rd smallest) before adhering with Stampin’ Dimensionals
Finished off with 3 Basic Rhinestone Jewels
For my next project, I used 7 stamps from the High Tide set. I paired the lighthouse image with the Brusho Crystal Colours to create a more atmospheric stormy scene
Night of Navy Cardbase 10.5cm x 29cm
Basic Black mat 8.6cm x 14.5cm
Watercolour Paper 7.6cm x 14.5cm
I stamped the lighthouse using Smoky Slate and Archival Black inks, then the land image with Sahara Sand. To prevent the colours from moving without Clear Embossing the images, I rubbed candle wax on top of the images
The land image stamp with the Prussian Blue Brusho were used to create the crashing waves with the help of the Brush Stamp & Sprinkle technique. I also added darker shades in some areas by painting with the Aqua Painter and Brusho Crystal
The Yellow and Gamboge Brusho colours were then added around the top of the lighthouse and lightly washed on the land area
The thick twine (oops it’s retired?!) was coloured with the Red Brusho by spritzing water on a craft sheet and sprinkling the crystal pigments
The sentiment were adhered and die cut like the previous project and finished with the Metal Rimmed Pearls

Stunning examples for the High Tide Stamp Set – both cards are mini works of art.

Beautiful, beautiful backgrounds! A labor of love.

I absolutely adore both cards – such contrasting feelings from each. But the stormy one with the Brushos really took my breath away. LOVE it! (And welcome to The Crew!)

Holy Wow, Jay!! These are fantastic. I love your color choices, and the intensity of both cards.

2 absolute stunners Jay! They look like paintings that need to be framed. I love the depth you have created by using your aqua painter with both the stamped images and Brusho. Amazing!

Beautiful cards, Jay! I LOVE the vivid colors!

Jay, these aren't cards. They re works of art! They should be framed, not mailed. You need to hold classes! Gorgeous!
