Creative Circle Blog Hop ~ 3D Church
Thank you for stopping by today and welcome to the Creative Circle Blog Hop (CCDT). You may have started here or arrived from Kate’s Paper Creations by Kate Creasey, you will find a blog list at the end of this post so you can check out all of the Design Team’s projects
Every 3rd month Liz Holloway designs a pattern for the team to use with their electronic cutters. For this month, we have a beautiful 3D Church to assemble then decorate with Stampin’ Up! products
I took inspirations from old churches here in England so after creating the structure with thick card, I used Sahara Sand and Basic Gray cardstock to decorate with. I embossed the side panels with the Brick Wall TIEF then sponging Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Smokey Slate inks randomly. I also used the Brick Wall Pattern Party Decorative Mask to sponge Soft Suede on the roof
I haven’t used our ScanNCut for a while and it may need new blades but I couldn’t get a nice cut on the decorative window panels so I used a die from the Eclectic Layers Thinlits set for my windows. I do love the windows Liz designed and I was determined to include it on my project. I achieved this by enlarging the height to 3 1/4″ (whilst keeping the correct width ratio) and using it for my church door instead with a Wood Textures DSP backing!
My first initial vision of the final piece was realistic but a bit bland until Barry thankfully suggested to make it a bit more festive. Out came the Mini Tinsel Trim Combo Pack, Leaf Punch, Decorative Ribbon Border Punch and a lot of Pearl Basic Jewels with most coloured with Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blend
The Pear Pizzazz base is embossed with Petal Burst TIEF. It also hides a secret box inside which can hold an electronic candle or you can stash a bunch of notecards in there too. I kept it very plain as it is hidden away and used the box to hide some secret stash of chocolates!
I will need to find a big box to keep this safe after Christmas as we will definitely be bringing this decor out every year

Beautiful your version Jay ! I adore! Your greedy church is quite in delicacy (as all your projects).

Jay what a stellar job you've done in creating your beautiful 3-D church and your photography of the finished piece is fantastic. I love the colours you chose and the way you fashioned your windows and doors. All the decorative touches and the hidden box for treats are perfect additions.
