Stamping Sunday Blog Hop ~ Amazing Dazzling Sheep
Hi and welcome to Mitosu Crafts UK. It’s Jay Soriano here with the Stamping Sunday design team blog hop with the theme of Sale-A-Bration. I am sharing 2 projects using the amazing Be Dazzling and Counting Sheep.
The Stamping Sunday design team are a group of independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrators around the world. We share themed card ideas and papercraft inspirations every 2nd Sunday of the month. Sale-A-Bration Take Two
Yes it’s the 2nd Sale-A-Bration this year which means more Stampin’ Up! products you can earn for FREE during August to September. There are Stamps, Designer Series Papers and Dies you can choose from. And my current favourites are the Be Dazzling Specialty Papers and Counting Sheep. So I wanted to create projects with both as well as the FREE Sheep Dies.
You’re Amazing Dazzling Sheep
You can colour the Be Dazzling papers with rubbing alcohol and inks! Although for mine I actually used Stampin’ Blends markers. Just be careful to not put too much pressure on the brush tip as it may fray. For this card, added hints of the coloured papers to add interest on the balloons.
The sheep is actually a mirror image as I stamped at the back of the Be Dazzling paper to then fussy cut it’s coat. I stamped the sheep again on Silicone Craft Sheet then laid Basic White on top to get the rest of the details to match.
The background layer was embossed with Parisian Flourish 3D design and I rubbed Gorgeous Grape Soft Pastel on top.
Dazzling Sheep in Pink Lip Balm Holder
For this lip balm holder I used the same embossing folder for the front but kept the decoration to minimum. I wanted the dancing sheep to really stand out so I just added Basic Pearls and Wink of Stella splatters.
It’s a tiny cute holder and can easily be changed to a hand bag by adding 2 strips of card for handles. The Detailed Trio Punch was very useful in adding the rounded corners as well as the holes for the bow closure.
I coloured the sheep’s coat in Polished Pink combo this time. Then adhered using double stacked Mini Stampin Dimensionals, which actually makes the sheep wobble with a little help.
