Snowflake Wishes Emboss Resist Madness

The Spot Creative Challenge
The Spot design team creates Stampin Up inspirations for a weekly card making challenge every Tuesday. The theme this week is ‘Emboss Resist’ a fun and creative cardmaking technique to create interesting details on your projects! This technique involves heat embossing so you will need a heat tool and embossing powders. It allows you to add layers of inks which you can see if you use clear embossing powders.
Snowflake Wishes Emboss Resist Madness
My card was inspired by a window display from the jewellery shop Pandora, which I saw on my way home pre-lockdown. The different colour tones in the graphics and white snowflakes instantly grabbed my attention which I tried to re-create on my card.
You may have seen a tiny sneak peek of this card and the colours I used, when I shared it last week on our social feed during #onstageathome
Stamping Sponges were used to apply Magenta Madness and Blackberry Bliss inks on the card. I also used an Embossing Buddy (sadly retired) to prepare the card after inking before adding the Clear Embossing Powder. But the powders still adhered on areas that were still wet. So do use your Heat Tool as well to make sure the inks are dry before heat embossing.
More inks were sponged and you can see the original colour through the clear embossing. I then heat embossed White Embossing Powder on top and more sponging! Stamping the sentiment at the bottom in Blackberry Bliss once done and adhering on the same coloured cardbase.
Finishing Touches
I couldn’t help myself and just had to dress up the card with ribbons and embellishments. One of the So Many Snowflakes dies from the Bundle was also used but not to add a snowflake accent! It was to add the stitched silver foil strip over the Magenta Madness Ribbon. The black & white trim from Playful Pets makes lovely bows as well which I added using a Mini Glue Dot. Then finally a mix of the 2 different sequins from the Adhesive Backed Snowflakes pack in the centre of the embossed snowflakes.
