Playful Penguins for Creating Kindness Blog Hop
Thanks for stopping by today. It’s Jay here with more card ideas using Playful Penguins for the Creating Kindness Design Team blog hop.
The Creating Kindness Design Team are a group of independent demonstrators around the world sharing our papercraft ideas every 1st Thursday of the month. Our special guest designer this month is Cathy Caines! You can check out Cathy’s fabulous projects from her blog at In The Cat Cave HERE
The theme this month is Colouring and you may have arrived here from Mrs. Brightside by Danielle Bennenk if you’re already hopping along. Be sure to make your way all around for more cardmaking inspiration.
Colouring Playful Penguins with Stampin’ Blends
The Playful Penguins are easy and fun to use. You don’t need to colour them but they really come to life when you do!
I stamped in Memento and coloured the penguin using the following Stampin’ Blends; Smoky slate Combo, Basic Black Combo and Mango Melody Combo. The Basic Black Watercolor Pencil was also used to add shading around the penguin.
The sentiment was heat embossed in white and I dabbed Dark Highland Heather after.
Playful Penguins with Frosted Frames
The 2nd card is more elaborate with die cuts from Frosted Frames Dies and Subtle embossed background.
The penguin was coloured the same way then fussy cut with Paper Snips. Hints of colours were added to the die cuts using Stampin’ Blends too in Pool Party and Highland Heather. The Color Lifter helped to create the soft fade out look.
The sentiment was also white embossed and comes from the Well Said stamp set. I finished decorating the card using the Gingham Gala Flower Sequins.
I hope you enjoyed these Playful Penguins card ideas and add colouring to your next project. Check out more wonderful projects with colouring techniques from the Creating Kindness Design Team by continuing along the hop.
Thanks again for stopping by. Until next time, BYEEEEE!
