Barry’s See A Silhouette Project Inspiration
For this months inspiration hop I decided to have a go at making the sliding pop up card. I’ve made a few recently, one of which was for our last special class we did using the Daisy Lane Stamp Set.
But for this card, I wanted to step it up slightly and turn it into a money holder as well as a pop-up slider card. It’s been made specifically for my Brother In Law Dean, who’s had his special 50th birthday on the 4th August.
Money Holder Video Demonstrator
To help you out I’ve made a video for you, so you can follow each step as you craft along and pause + rewind if needed. This can be found below as well as measurements.
Pop Up Slider Money Holder Measurements
All the measurements are included in the video, but to save you having to find them again you can find them below.
- Smoky Slate – 14cm x 21cm (5.5″ x 8 1/4″) score in half at 10.5cm (4 1/8″)
- Designer Series Paper – 6″ x 5″ (15.5cm x 13cm) Use one side to cut out the die and then cut a 2″ x 4 3/4 (5cm x 12cm) strip from remaining DSP.
- Night of Navy Layer – 5cm x 8.5cm (2″ x 3 3/8″)
- Pull Tab Whisper White – 2″ x 4 3/4″ (5cm x 12cm)
You’ll also need
- Night of Navy
- Whisper White
- Silver Glimmer paper
- Black + Poppy Parade cardstock
All the other pieces just need to be big enough to be used with the dies you’re using
I hope you’ve enjoyed watching this video and ave found it helpful. Please ask any questions and we will do our best to help you out.
Jay’s See A Silhouette Gift Box
Taking the cue from Barry’s project above, I decided to create a small gift box decorated with the DSP.
The DSP design that I chose from the pack reminds me of a galaxy background. So I used the small circle off cuts from the punched Silver Glimmer Paper with the Decorative Ribbon design for the lid decoration. I also added dots of Fine Tip Glue Pen for extra texture.
The finished box measures 7.2cm x 7.2cm x 2.1cm and it can hold 4 Ink Spots, a little gift for crafty friends, party hosts, customers and class attendees.
Metric Scoring Plate
I used the Metric Scoring Plate to help create this Ink Spots Box with the following measurements:
- Basic Black Base: 11.1cm x 11.1cm, score at 2cm on all 4 sides
- Smoky Slate Lid: 10.2cm x 10.2cm, score at 1.5cm all 4 sides
- TIP: There is a 0.5cm
score line on the Metric Plate at 10.5cm then every cm after 15cm. I used a 9cm cardstock to place on the left edge of the plate to butt the Smoky Slate Lid so I can use thescore line at 10.5cm. - When constructing the lid, ensure the tabs
are adhered to one side each. Place the Basic Black base inside to guide withgluing the last 2 tabs to ensure the lid is a good fit.
- TIP: There is a 0.5cm
- See A Silhouette DSPs:
- 6.8cm x 6.8cm for the top of lid6.8cm x 1cm for all four sides of lid
- TIP: Cut the DSP to 6.8cm x 10.8cm then trim the smaller 1cms until you have four of them and left with the 6.8cm x 6.8cm
Here’s our colour inspiration
Thanks again for stopping by. Until next time, BYEEEEE!
