Beautiful You Stamp with Daisy Lane
Hello, it’s Jay here with a creative project using the Beautiful You stamp paired with the Daisy Lane set.
Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #PCC341
The Paper Craft Crew have created projects using the card sketch below for this week’s challenge. Will you join us this week?
Beautiful You Stamp with Daisy Lane
After looking at the sketch, I needed a stamp or two that will fit. The Beautiful You stamp carried over from the last catalogue and I haven’t used it for a while. I paired it with one of my current favourite, the new Daisy Lane as I wanted to showcase the versatility of this new set. I’ve freshened up the older Beautiful You stamp by incorporating the new daisy designs with the Paper Piecing Technique.
I enjoy the challenge of card sketches as it gives me a starting point for a project. For this card, I did add more elements to the sketch but the main pieces are there.
Paper Piecing Technique
The Paper Piecing Technique is a great way to add patterns on stamped images. You can use Designer Series Paper off cuts too but for my card I added the stamped daisies.
I stamped the lady in Tuxedo Black then stamped the daisies over in Blushing Bride. Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers in Petal Pink Combo and Flirty Flamingo Combo were then used for colouring. I then fussy cut the dress and hat to be paper pieced.
The same lady design I stamped again on another card and coloured in Ivory Stampin’ Blends. I did fussy cut her out again (as I wanted her on dimensionals on the oval topper) before paper piecing the hat and dress.
Other Elements
The card topper was created with the oval stitched die cut from Stitched Shapes set. To add the faux layering, I coloured the edge using the stitches as a guide with Light Mint Macaron Blends. Finally, the topper was embossed with the Country Floral design before adhering on the card base.
I originally stamped the stem with leaves on the card base in Mint Macaron ink but couldn’t see much of it. This was stamped again on another card piece and fussy cut so I can re arrange them along the horizontal banners which luckily hides the original stamping.
The card was looking a little bare so I added the Smoky Slate daisy and finished the sketch with the die cut flowers from Well Written Dies
