Piece of Cake Stamp Set for Stamp Review Crew
Hi, it’s Jay here and I am back with the Stamp Review Crew sharing project ideas with the Piece of Cake Stamp Set.
Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew blog hop! We are a group of Stampin’ Up! independent demonstrators sharing project ideas with one particular stamp set every 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month.
You are currently at Mitosu Crafts with me Jay Soriano. If you’re following the hop already, you would have arrived here from Heart’s Delight Cards by Cindy Elam. You can continue along the hop by clicking the ‘Next Blog’ button at the end of this blog post.
Piece of Cake Stamp Set
The Piece of Cake stamp set carried over to the 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue and co-ordinates with the Cake Builder Punch. It contains 21 photopolymer stamps, 10 of which are sentiments. This is a versatile stamp set and can be used for most occasions including male cards. It really is a must have in your craft stash!
For my first card I wanted to combine the Piece of Cake stamp with the new Daisy Lane set for a feminine card which turned out like this…
Cut The Cake!
This sentiment is great as it can fit different occasions such as birthdays, congratulations, anniversary and wedding!
I stamped the Daisy Lane designs on the Whisper White layer in Granny Apple Green and Gray Granite. Daffodil Delight was then sponged on the top left and bottom right of the card layer before adhering on the Sahara Sand mat.
I stamped the cake and stand in Gray Granite before punching with the Cake Builder design. The Stampin’ blend colours I used were Daffodil Delight, Soft Sea Foam and Lovely Lipstick Combo.
The Soft Sea Foam label was created by punching the cake twice and turning sideways before adhering together. I positioned the cake and stand on dimensionals to cover the cut line.
I finished the card with the Melon Mambo daisy, Lovely Lipstick coloured Basic Pearls and the Classic Label punched sentiment in Tuxedo Black.
For my next project, I wanted to make a fun interactive card and was inspired by a ring box.
Twisting Pop Up Cake Is The Answer…
This twisting pop up card is bright, cheerful and so much fun! I just kept opening it when I finished the card 🙂
Chocolate fudge cakes are my favourites so I stamped in Early Espresso and used Aqua Painters to add more colour. I also stamped the sentiments in Early Espresso on Pineapple Punch card before snipping into banners.
Mechanisms:
- 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ card. Score at 3/4″ and opposite corners to form a X.
- 3 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ card. Score at 1/2″, 1 3/4″ and 3″. Turn 90˚ and score at 3/4″
Click the photo below to see the card in action.
The front turned out more busier than I’d like with the Birthday Backgrounds stamp set and Leaf Punch. I would stamp the Poppy Parade confetti on the Whisper White circle next time instead of the Coastal Cabana streamers and omit it from the Coastal Cabana mat.
Well that’s it from me today. Make sure you hop all the way around to see the crew’s creative projects using the Piece of Cake Stamp Set. Don’t forget to come back and order any Stampin’ Up! products from Mitosu Crafts’ UK Online Shop or from your local Stamp Review Crew Design Team

Oh, Jay! These are wonderful!! The soft and delicate card is breath taking. Your pop up card is in your face, but in the best possible way! Thank you for sharing the instructions 🙂

Wow Awesome cards! I love how you used the Daisy Lane card on the first card so pretty and elegant. Your second card so fun! I love the colors and how it pops up. Great job!

Two totally amazing cards. I LOVE me some chocolate cake and that POP up card is just YUM. Also, so smart to pair this set with daisy lane. I feel like the little cake needs a larger image to balance with it and that flower and fern do the trick. Awesome!

Love pairing this with Daisy Lane! Great idea. Love the pop up, too. So fun!

What a fabulous pair of cards! You had me wow-ing at the clever way you paired Piece of Cake with Daisy Lane and the colouring of the opposite corners. Then, WOW again with unexpected pop-up.

Thanks for sharing the twisting information, but I am stumped as to how to put this mechanism on the card. I’ve googled the subject and yours is definitely unique. Would you please share how to make this work?
