Measurements

  • Soft Succulent Cardstock: 8 ½” x 5 ½” (21cm x 14.8cm) Very Vanilla Cardsock: Wide Long Scrap
  • Glimmer Specialty Paper: Evening Evergreen 2 ¼” x 4” (5.7cm x 10.2cm)
  • Lights Aglow Specialty Designer Series Paper 4 pieces 1” x 5 ¼” (2.5cm x 14.3cm)

12 Weeks of Christmas Ideas #45 Tutorial – Create an Easy Christmas Glitz Card with DSP Strips

  1. Die cut label out of the Evening Evergreen glimmer paper. I used the largest die in that shape. Now out of the Very Vanilla, cut out the longest die to create a banner label.
  2. Score your Soft Succulent Cardstock in half at 4 ¼” (10.5cm) to create your card base.
  3. Cut a 4 ¼” (10.5cm) piece of the Soft Succulent Shimmer Ribbon. I angled both my ends the same way.
  4. Let’s stamp!
  5. Using the Cherry Cobbler ink, stamp your greeting onto the Very Vanilla label banner.
  6. Also, add your sentiment to the inside of your card. You can use the same ink, just remember it will look slightly different stamped on the Soft Succulent cardstock.
  7. Time to Assemble.
  8. To create the background on the card, you are using the 4 strips that are 1” (2.5cm) thick. Ideally they will line up right next to each other and create a border around the whole card. I recommend to dry fit (without adhesive) to see how they will line up. Then add adhesive to the first strip on the outside edge and go across the card adhering in order. (Either right to left or left to right).
  9. You’ll add your glimmer label to the bottom ⅓ of the card.
  10. Next using mini glue dots, add your Soft Succulent Shimmer Ribbon. Since you’re going over the glimmer label, glue dots work the best.
  11. Lastly, add the Very Vanilla label over the ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  12. Embellishment time! Tie your Gold Simply Elegant Trim through the loop of your Flat Jingle Bell Trinket. Adhere to the label using Mini Glue Dots.
  13. This is the perfect card to make multiples of! Simple but with a touch of glimmer.
